Adventure and Excitement at EPCOT 

EPCOT opened in October 1982 as a permanent world's fair with a section that honors technology and human achievement. EPCOT is divided into Future World and the World Showcase.  Each land is further divided into pavilions based on countries or advances in technology. The name EPCOT comes from Walt Disney's dream of an Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.  Like the rest of Walt Disney World, EPCOT is busy whenever there are school holidays. While the newer attractions, such as Test Track and Soarin', may get wait times of over an hour on a regular basis, EPCOT has many attractions that have minimal wait times year round. Because many of the attractions in the World Showcase are movies or exhibits, those not interested in international cultures would find Future World more exciting.  Many of the countries offer live entertainment throughout the day and it is always fun to visit with the international cast members.

The Newest attractions at EPCOT are Soarin', Turtle Talk with Crush, and Mission Space. Most important hint: Do not go into Spaceship Earth first. The line will shorten within a couple hours of opening to a point where you can wait less than 5 minutes to board. Second most important hint: Get a Fastpass for Soarin' as soon as possible. The Fastpasses for this attraction run out quickly, especially during the busy season. Third most important hint: Skip the burgers and sandwiches sold in Future World and be sure to sample the cuisine in one of the many restaurants in the World Showcase. They range from high-class table service to counter service take out. Each country has at least one restaurant that sells authentic regional cuisine.
